Chery's entrepreneurial journey began in 1997, and it has since grown into a global industrial group centered on the automotive value chain, covering diverse fields including vehicle manufacturing, core components, auto finance, modern services, and smart technology. Chery Group comprises two major operating entities: Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. (9973.HK, hereinafter referred to as "Chery Automobile") and Chery Holding Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Chery Holding"). The Group oversees more than 500 member companies, including Chery Technology, Chery Commercial Vehicle, Chery Auto Finance, Ruiyuan International, and AiMOGA, among others, with operations in over 130 countries and regions worldwide. For 23 consecutive years, it has ranked first among Chinese automotive brands in passenger vehicle overseas deliveries.

In the latest 2026 Fortune Global 500 ranking, Chery Automobile Co., Ltd., for the first time as a listed entity, secured the 383rd position, making it the only new Chinese mainland entrant on this year's list. This milestone is underpinned by the Group's long-term systematic empowerment. 

Fueled by the growth momentum in its two core tracks—globalization and new energy—from January to July 2026, the Group achieved a cumulative sales volume of 1.634 million vehicles, representing a year-on-year growth of 10.1%. Among these, international shipments accounted for 1.146 million vehicles, a year-on-year surge of 71.2%, firmly securing its position as ranking first among Chinese automotive brands in passenger vehicle overseas deliveries; new energy vehicle (NEV) sales reached 604,000 units, up 42.3% year-on-year, with both scale and growth rate ranking among the industry's top tier. As of the end of July 2026, Chery Group had accumulated more than 20.16 million users worldwide, including over 6.99 million overseas users.

While achieving steady growth in scale, Chery consistently places quality at its core, continuously refining its product competitiveness and earning recognition from authoritative domestic and international institutions and global users. In the four key J.D. Power 2026 studies—APEAL (Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout), PXI (Purchase Experience Index) for ICE vehicles, IQS (China Initial Quality Study), and CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index)—Chery Automobile led all Chinese brands across every evaluated metric, standing out as the only Chinese automaker to achieve a total sweep of top honors. It has also officially joined the 'core circle' of global automotive quality regulations, becoming the third Asian board member of the International Automotive Task Force (IATF). In safety, Chery continues to lead: to date, 71 of its models have secured global five-star safety ratings, making it the Chinese automotive brand with the highest number of such accolades.

Independent innovation remains the core driver of Chery's high-quality development. Chery Group has built a global "1+7+N" R&D network. Leveraging the Yao Guang Laboratory and Kaiyang Laboratory as its dual-core R&D systems, the Group integrates global scientific and technological resources, partnering with over 100 leading universities worldwide, and focuses on frontier areas such as electrification, connectivity, intelligence, and shared mobility, achieving full-chain implementation of core technologies from lab to industrialization. Centering on its five core technology pillars—Mars Architecture, Chery Power, Lingxi Smart Cockpit, Falcon Smart Driving, and Galaxy Ecology—Chery has introduced over ten world-leading technologies, including the KunPeng Sky Optimus 48.57% ultra-high thermal efficiency engine, Feiyu EMB chassis, Rhino Battery, Falcon Smart Driving System Large Model, Ark Amphibious System, "Boya Sound" audio system, and Lingxiao Flight Platform, building a world-class, self-reliant technological innovation system.
