On October 20, during the 2025 Chery International User Summit, LEPAS hosted its first-ever public safety test at the Chery Longshan Test Center in Wuhu, open to global media and dealers. Through this powerful public verification, LEPAS demonstrated that true elegance is built upon uncompromising safety.

Chery Group’s profound accumulation in safety technology is reflected in its development system guided by the principles of “All People, All Processes, All Scenarios, All Directions, and All Markets.”The system includes 127 safety development standards, with CAE simulation accuracy exceeding 95% in each working condition. Supported by this framework, multiple Chery Group's models have achieved five-star safety ratings worldwide. Inheriting Chery Groups’s strong safety DNA, LEPAS is developed in accordance with the 2026 Euro NCAP five-star standard. Its body structure adopts a three-path front impact design and an 8-longitudinal, 5-lateral floor layout, featuring 75% high-strength steel and aluminum composition and 10 airbags throughout the vehicle to ensure solid protection. Witnessed by media representatives, industry experts, dealers, and user delegates, the LEPAS L8 successfully completed three demanding tests — Bottom Scraping Test,Fording Obstacle Test, and Rollover Test — with outstanding performance, fully showcasing LEPAS’s strong technical confidence and safety strength.

The Bottom Scraping Test simulated the severe challenges a chassis might face under complex road conditions. Test results showed that the chassis fixation points remained intact, and the battery pack exhibited no leakage, fire, or explosion even after intense scraping, successfully passing air-tightness and insulation resistance tests. This result demonstrates LEPAS’s meticulous design in chassis protection and battery safety, providing reliable assurance for users driving on complex terrains. In the Fording Obstacle Test, the LEPAS L8 drove through a 600mm-deep water pool, remaining free from water intrusion, leakage, or malfunction. The electric powertrain system operated stably, proving LEPAS’s all-weather protection capability and its dedication to ultimate user safety in the new energy era.

In the most attention-grabbing Rollover Test, the LEPAS L8 completed the collision at a speed of 60 km/h, exceeding conventional testing standards. With its “8-longitudinal, 5-lateral” floor structure and three front load paths, the body integrates 28 components of 1500 MPa hot-stamped steel, achieving exceptional compressive strength. Combined with four major body safety technologies, the crash performance has been significantly enhanced. Equipped with an advanced restraint system and 10 airbags, the L8 offers comprehensive protection for all occupants. Its multi-layered rescue protection system also enables rapid passenger escape, effectively preventing secondary injuries.
